Welcome to YRPCS’s Blog!

More than likely you have already scanned through a dozen or so websites searching for that certain “je ne sais quoi?” Well, stop your search! The new YRPCS blog is finally here! First, a bit about our history. The Rural Aftercare Program (RAP), now known as YRPCS, was formed in 1998. It started out as a small but dedicated counselling practice on the outskirts of south Simcoe County (hence the “Rural”) that primarily provided post-treatment addiction counselling and recovery support (hence the “Aftercare”). Over the years, RAP relocated and expanded and is now the leader in mobile counselling in York Region offering many more services to a far larger and more diverse population (hence the name change to York Region Psychotherapy and Counselling Services).

In our blog, we will be providing information that is both educational and informative about issues that clients frequently bring to session. Our hope is that there will be something relevant and of interest to you. We also hope that the subject matter will provoke discussion, stimulate critical thinking, and offer hope and inspiration. Whether you agree whole-heartedly with what we write or think its all a bunch of bunk, we want to hear from you!

So, that’s it! The official launch of YRPCS’s blog is complete. Our second blog will be about something very relevant to this time of year-resolutions and positive intentions for the year ahead. We look forward to hearing from you.
